I am shocked beyond belief: I just read your article about the fact that Lake Cachuma is down to 7.6 percent of capacity and that when it gets to 6.2 percent, which can’t take very long, what’s left will be unusable.

How is it that this is not showing up as urgent headline news in all local media? What happens when, not if, the reservoir is empty?

This is not only a use problem, it also affects our safety: What happens if there is a fire, and there is no water in the hydrants?

We have all been watching this impending crisis loom, but the general public is, I’m sure, complacent about it. In my case, I didn’t know it was that much of a problem, or so close.

Please take whatever steps you can to alert both authorities and the general public that this is serious!
