Two men reported missing from Lompoc last Wednesday were found dead Sunday afternoon near their car, which had plunged 500 feet over the side of Gibraltar Road. A hang glider spotted the wreckage and notified authorities. Both men had been ejected from the vehicle and were declared dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

[UPDATE: Sept. 13, 5 p.m.] Authorities have notified the families of the men who died and released their names. They are 24-year- old David Esquivel of Santa Maria and 23-year- old Oscar Hernandez of Lompoc.
