Gold’s Gym Taking Over Three Bay Club Locations

Gold’s Gym is back in Santa Barbara’s workout world. New owners Angel and Willy Baños are taking over three Bay Clubs that were once Spectrum Athletic up until about a year ago, and Gold’s — under different owners — before that. The upper State, Carrillo Street, and Calle Real gyms will transition over the next two months, with reps on hand to talk about memberships. The Baños brothers, who opened their first Gold’s in North Hollywood in 1987, plan to renovate locker rooms, add new flooring, and create new group fitness programs. They stated membership prices will stay the same.
