As a small business owner who spends a significant amount of time downtown, I feel compelled to share my perspective on State Street because its current configuration directly affects my business and the overall health of the downtown economy.
There’s plenty of other side streets or streets that we can do a closure and do this “walker friendly” environment instead of a key road that is part of Santa Barbara history.
I would like to recommend to whoever decides to run for mayor of our beautiful city that they run the campaign with the promise of opening up State Street to vehicle traffic.
