Pointing to low gas prices, Venoco announced it is temporarily shelving the environmental impact report (EIR) for its Paredon project; last week, the Carpinteria City Council approved a $477,398 EIR agreement between Venoco and consulting firm Marine Research Specialists. The project would create an onshore-to-offshore drilling rig for up to 22 wells.
