Big Sale

There are rummage sales, and then there’s the Starr-King rummage sale, a legendary two-day event held every year at the Unitarian Society facilities. The sale offers literal truckloads of high-quality fare at reasonable prices, including toys, clothes, furniture, books, tools, and housewares. The event also features a bake sale, refreshments, and a gourmet lunch. Those looking for deals on services and other intangibles can take advantage of the silent auction to purchase everything from a massage to an airplane trip to Catalina. If it’s higher class you want, check out the “treasures” room for original works of art, jewelry, and antiques, or the “better clothes” area for designer and fine vintage selections. Friday, February 6-Saturday, February 7, starting at 9:30 a.m. at 1525 Santa Barbara Street. Call 966-1325.
