Adoptable Pet of the Week

Oddie is a 7-year-old, 7 lb., neutered male Maltese mix. Oddie was rescued by K-9 PALS after a harrowing experience of being hit by car. He was seriously injured and then abandoned in a shelter. No owner came to reclaim him, so K-9 PALS rescued him immediately after the stray hold period and took him to emergency vet care right away. The prognosis to walk again did not look very good, but we decided to give Oddie his best chance and so we went ahead with the very complicated and extensive surgery, and months of intense therapy. It all paid off for Oddie. K-9 PALS not only was able to save Oddie’s life, but Oddie can walk, and even run again!

Oddie is in a foster home and enjoys the company of other dogs, and would likely be able to live with others and even cats. Please consider being part of Oddie’s happy tale by giving him a loving forever home! And if you are not ready to adopt, please donate to the K-9 PALS Medical Fund to help Oddie and other dogs in need.

If you are interested in adopting Oddie, call 805-570-0415 , at Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter, 5473 Overpass Rd., Santa Barbara, CA, during business hours, Mon-Fri 9 – 4:45, Sat 10 – 4. Rocket can also be seen at community outreach and adoption events, (that is, until he gets adopted).

To view more photos and information on other dogs available for adoption, go to the K-9 PALS website: K9PALS. K-9 PALS provides free dog behavior training sessions for people who have adopted a dog from any local shelter, rescue organization or humane society.
