Sadly the situation Mr. Rosen describes so well is happening all over the country, under the guise of "protection."

Where do victims go to complain when they are abused or feel they've been abused? The cold reality is there's no place to go because wards of the state are stripped of their civil rights and protections, including the right to complain. An admitted and convicted serial killer has more civil rights than a conservatorship ward!

On A Case of Conservatorship

Posted on February 28 at 8:46 a.m.

Unlawful and abusive conservatorships are a growing threat to the health and wealth of our vulnerable elderly and disabled -- and to our nation's economy.

Awareness is the first step for reform. Conservatorship abuse thrives and proliferates in the darkness. Thank you, Bryan Rosen, for this article shining a bright light on an important issue.

On Too Quiet in the Court

Unlawful and abusive conservatorships are harming families and pauperizing vulnerable, disabled, and elderly people all over this country.

Conservatorship law is designed to "guard", "conserve", and "protect" incompetent people and the public. Over the years, the laws have been misused, misapplied, or manipulated to unjustly enrich court-appointed fiduciaries at the expense of and to the detriment of the very people the courts have assigned them to protect.

Who pays the price? Every taxpayer picks up the Medicaid tab when wards are pauperized into indigence under the guise of "protection."

On Victory Over Conservatorship

Posted on June 22 at 5:39 p.m.

Unlawful and abusive conservatorships are a growing epidemic, soon to target the Baby Boomers who are entering the age of vulnerability.

Thank you, Mr. Rosen, for a comprehensive review of the problem.

An interesting case continues to unfold in Nashville, TN. An Investigator on the case has launched a new website, http://www.NashvilleCriminals.info. The clear and convincing evidence of lawlessness and abuse is posted for public scrutiny.

On Overseeing the Overseers

NASGA is an organization of victims and families working to expose and end unlawful and abusive guardianships/conservatorships -- a growing national epidemic.

Guardianship wards are stripped of all rights: the right to decide where to live and whom to associate with, how to spend (or save!) ones own money, to accept or refuse medical treatment -- or even ask for a second opinion, marry, vote, etc. Most important, wards are stripped of the right to complain.

With the fox guarding the henhouse and the hens muzzled, guardians and their attorneys can easily unjustly enrich themselves at the expense and to the detriment of the very person they have been court-appointed to protect.

Many wards are forcibly taken from their homes and isolated in nursing homes against their will and family is not permitted to visit or have information or input regarding medical "care". Wards die prematurely alone and afraid. The devastation victims and families suffer at the hands of the system haunts them for the rest of their lives.

And where do the victims go for help? Many go to the AG, only to be turned away because the abuse has been court-sanctioned.

Disorder in the Court is an appropriate title!

Unfortunately, there is money to be made off of Patricia Rosen - for the conservator and all the attorneys, etc. A contested conservatorship is a lawyer feast.

Conservatorship is a good law, gone bad. The laws are designed to "guard" the vulnerable person, "conserve" his/her assets, and "protect" the public from the ward becoming a public charge.

None of those three noble goals is being met. Instead, conservatorship is harming the very people who the proceedings are supposed to protect!
