Thank goodness your son is ok and things didn't take a turn for the worse! Thanks for sharing the story...It makes me rethink walking in the tall grass along the bluffs.

I'm under the impression that she ate sushi at a local restaurant and maybe the establishments name was purposley left out. Then again, I could be wrong.
I think that no matter where you eat sushi, you are taking a small risk of getting sick or getting some kind of parasite. I would think the fresher the fish and the colder temps are, the less likely you are of becoming ill.

I'm really anticipating the screening of this film. It's always nice to be able to travel to exotic and far away surf spots but, when it comes down to it...you don't get the same feeling as you do when you're in your local spots. It's great to see that these guys found the spirit of adventure still alive right here in California.

This land needs to be preserved plain and simple. If not out of respect for the Chumash then definitely for the sole purpose of keeping our beautiful coastline untouched and out of the hands of nonlocal developers!!Let's embrace what natural beauty we have left and do what is necessary to maintain it and keep it that way. Save Naples!!!

I share the opinions of Upper_State & Emenzies and I appreciate Noletaman's contibution to the discussion by providing information for those who are currently not involved, to go ahead and do so. To express your opinions on a messageboard about a serious matter such as this is a good way to vent and connect with others who share your opinion but, to really get involved and do your part to make a difference is the way to go if you really feel that strongly on the matter. Don't let that "I'm but only one person, what kind of a difference can I make?" frame of mind influence your decisions on the future of the Gaviota Coastline or anything else in your life. Stand up for what you believe in....you'll be surprised at how many others feel the same way you do. Not only will you be making a difference but, you'll be inspiring others to get involved as well. Lets stand together as a community and stop these people from trying to ruin what we've worked so hard to preserve.

Thank you samdgreenleaf for shedding more light on the subject for us. The whole idea that a company would pay non-residents to solicit signatures, meanwhile telling the real Carpinteria residents they were signing something about their electricity bill is doing "whatever it takes to dig that stuff up" in my book.
