Randy and Evi Quaid Arrested in Vermont

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi Quaid, both wanted for arrest in Santa Barbara County since 2010 for allegedly trespassing and squatting in a Montecito home they previously owned and subsequently failing to appear in court, were arrested Friday by Vermont State Police in Vermont, according to a press release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office. Currently, the couple is being held in Vermont on $500,000 bail each, and Evi Quaid faces an additional charge of misdemeanor resisting arrest.

According to the Sheriff’s Office press release, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office and Vermont law enforcement officials have begun the Quaids’ extradition process back to Santa Barbara County. Randy and Evi Quaid will be arraigned in Vermont State Court on Monday. If they’re ordered to remain in custody, the Sheriff’s Felony Fugitives Unit will transport the Quaids back to Santa Barbara, where they will face charges.
