Regardless of the SBC outcome on measure P, this will be decided on a much larger, State and National scale; If you are at all paying attention, you will have read the SCIENCE, and know that fracking, and other extreme measures of oil or gas extraction, will soon be banned. As it has been banned in most other 1st world, less greed driven, countries. The #bigoil $$ is paying for a lot of advertising, but not all of it legitimate. Listen to your neighbors and friends, maybe they were here in 1969/70, when the movement that started here at home, began. We need to protect our WATER and beautiful land, for our children and theirs. #YESonP #SBC

On Dodging Measure P Oil Slicks

I agree, it's tending more toward the self-important/ narcissistic. More power to the people doing good, and spreading kindness every day in their interactions with others... and less to those calling attention to themselves for "praying' or being pious. But we can still give those people kindness... I'm sorry for your loss, the loss of a child is so #@* senseless. But I hope we can try to gleam the beauty of his life, and pass on the stories of kindness and beauty that our community brings together.

Yes, just because fracking, or other high-intensity oil extraction methods, hasn't happened, doesn't mean it WON'T happen! I wonder how Agricultural interests will feel when their water resources run dry? It's happening all over TX... And let's talk about the link between these extraction methods and earthquakes... it has been proven to increase the frequency of earthquakes. Now, in the areas where they have seen this, they have increased by multiples of hundreds, no small potatoes, but they have always had relatively small earthquakes... What about SB county, have we had relatively small earthquakes? what happens if the frequency of our quakes increase? by multiples of a hundred...? There is real science here, and it needs to be looked at, and not propagandized solely for the big $$$ interests.

Where would one put the entrance exit on Stork? It seems one would have to take out the bus stop and or the dedicated right turn lane... Because you all are correct, that the entrance/intersection is already a nightmare (and not even comparable to the open space of Jack in the...)
A drive thru just does not fit in that location!

More power to the sane-people! No matter what side you are on, if you cannot acknowledge there is a gun-violence epidemic in our country, and that something needs to be done to improve safety for ourselves and our children, then you are probably insane.

This is awful. the lot is already extremely pedestrian unfriendly; and now we have to cater to people who don't want to get out of their cars, while they eat terribly unhealthy crap. Corporate greed wins again, fattening their wallets and Americans since...
I agree w/John... and I hope when the traffic nightmare becomes evident, that the City has authority to take away the drive thru - yea, good luck...

WHy did we go? OIL, Oil, oil, of course! To control that resource, which was by Iraqi law a nationally controlled resource, and is now (by the laws that we wrote for them) controlled by international conglomerates. These BIG OIL (and Cheney's Haliburten) companies are now doing quite well, lining there pockets with billions$$$ in profits; at the expense of the American people who were told we must all do our part (except for the wealthiest citizen, who got a tax cut). And the biggest loser, the American child of course. Cut Cuts cuts to education, health care funding, etc f-ing fascism, etc.
