Foodbank Farewell

Jeanette Nadeau announced her departure, effective February 28,
as executive director of the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. In
18 years as chief executive, Nadeau presided over the Foodbank’s
growth from a “total start-up” to the county’s largest food
distribution network. An Independent Local Hero in 2003, Nadeau
raised $2.7 million for the construction of a Foodbank facility in
Santa Maria. She plans to do some traveling, but will remain active
in the community and the nonprofit sector. Veteran Foodbank
fundraiser Donna Bayet praised Nadeau’s energy and accomplishments,
and expressed hope the agency will find an able person to succeed
her.
