Nine children from a Ukranian orphanage spent their last night in the United States, April 10, at the home of Hope Ranch resident Laurel Rubin, following a Central and Southern California tour that their sponsors hoped would find adoptive parents for them. About half of the 13 orphans, all aged five or older, who were brought over by the Clovis, California based adoption agency God’s Waiting Children, landed prospective parents. However, generally only a fraction of potential placements come to fruition, according to Rubin, who adopted two children from Khazakstan several years ago.
