Sanchez Becomes First Latino President of California Teachers Association

Teacher David Sanchez, of Santa Maria, took over the presidency of the 340,000-member California Teachers Association, becoming the first Latino to lead the organization. In 2006, Sanchez, who teaches kindergarten, was named one of 80 California Latino “Leaders of the Future” by La Opini³n newspaper.
