School Board Moves Ahead in Academy, La Cumbre Merger

The Santa Barbara School Board unanimously voted to go ahead with plans to merge the Santa Barbara Community Academy onto the La Cumbre Junior High campus. Preliminarily approved last month, this week’s vote set the stage for grades three to six of the Academy to open the year at La Cumbre, with grades K-2 making the move once the parking lot upgrades are completed, most likely just after Christmas break.
