Santa Barbara Architect Passes Away at 75

John Pittman, a major player in Santa Barbara architectural circles, died on 7/29, succumbing to lung cancer at age 75. Pittman’s firm – Edwards-Pittman – had a major hand in designing many of the key institutional structures throughout Santa Barbara, including the Natural History Museum and the recent addition to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Pittman served on Santa Barbara’s Historic Landmarks Committee, as well as the boards of numerous museums and civic organizations.
