Six massive marijuana groves were raided by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department last week, netting nearly 22,000 plants. The three-day operation, which was aided by the U.S. Forest Service and the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP), brings the total number of plants confiscated by cops this growing season to a county record of 83,393, with an estimated street value of $266 million. A vast majority of the illicit gardens have been discovered on Los Padres National Forest land by surveillance helicopters.
