The Trust for Historic Preservation has complained that the new owners of the Wine Cask and Intermezzo-located in the El Paseo shopping center-violated the terms of their lease and city permit requirements by removing a large eucalyptus tree, a fountain, and some decorative vines from the El Paseo courtyard. The city issued a stop-work order, but the trust demands that the courtyard be restored to its original condition.
