Rep. Lois Capps released a statement Friday, calling Gore a “true role model and dedicated public servant. It is now abundantly clear that global warming is the greatest environmental challenge of our time,” she said. “I greatly admire his tireless efforts to build awareness of the serious threats posed by global warming and how all of us have an opportunity and a responsibility to combat this threat.”

“We must heed the warnings of Former Vice President Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and take concrete steps to address this growing crisis. I hope that United States will once again be a leader on this issue as we work together across our country and across the planet to stop global warming. As Former Vice President Gore so eloquently noted, this is not a partisan issue. It is a moral issue that we must all work together to solve. We don’t have a moment to lose as we work to fight global warming and protect our planet for our children and our children’s children.”
