Art from the Heart Half-Day Camp

Art from the Heart instructor Karen Putnam offers creative fun through drama, dance, music, photography, face painting, and American Sign Language. Songs, stories, parachute games, costumes, puppet play, and art projects bring out the creative spirit in each child.

Arts at Laguna

Now in its 22nd year, this camp wows kids with daily workshops in dance, music, theater, and art; all-star faculty; weekly musical revue for family and friends.

Clay Camp

Color Me Mine Adventures in Art Camp

In this year’s Art Adventures, weekly themes are explored through ceramics, mosaics, canvas paint, and pottery on the wheel. Plus, there’s a surfing add-on package to keep your kids active and fit courtesy of Surf Happens (producers of the Rincon Classic). Destination Dance

Embody Dance Ballroom Swing and Latin Dance Camp

Fiesta Feather Fridays for Babies and Toddlers

Gustafson Dance Camp

Gustafson Dance offers a variety of summer programs including Dance Camp for ages 6-12, Mini Dance Camp for ages 3-8, and Junior Intensive, a serious ballet program for ages 9-14. Jazz and Blues Improvisation Camp

This camp is centered around the piano, however no previous experience is needed. All you need is the willingness to explore your own musical ability. With the help of several musical guests, children get a chance to develop their musical ear and find the rhythm within. Week ends with a blues/jazz performance.

Jensen’s Summer Guitar RockCamp

Jensen’s RockCamp is a full-day, week-long music camp that teaches kids the basics of playing the electric guitar. Your child will have fun learning to play music and get a free electric guitar. All sessions end with a MainStage performance for parents and friends. Lead by a qualified teacher who has toured across the U.S., your child will learn what it takes to be a musical performer from someone who’s done it. Visit to sign up.

La Cumbre Theatre Summer Performance Workshop

Made in Santa Barbara: Art and Architecture

Meet local artists, designers, and architects as you find out more about hip shoes, colorful paintings, sharp surfboards, fun clothes, and unusual buildings made in Santa Barbara in this SBMA ArtVenture Camp. Includes visit to the S.B. Museum of Art.

Music Adventure Camp

Taught by award-winning Kindermusik with Kathy teachers, with a music curriculum integrated with instrument instruction, movement, storytelling, and games. In small groups, develop an awareness of rhythm, beat, drumming, movement, folkdance, singing, and drama, explored through multi-instruments and multi-cultural elements. Songwriting Camp. This camp offers a fun, energetic, and positive environment for learning how to write and perform songs in many different genres. Sandcastle Music Together

SBMA ArtVenture Camps

ArtVenture Camps are unique week-long art experiences for kids ages 6-12. Campers learn a variety of art techniques, cultural history, and creative problem-solving in an inspiring atmosphere. Each week offers campers new and exciting opportunities to express themselves through drawing, painting, collage, sculpting, fiber arts, print-making, mixed media, and more. Each camp includes a visit to the S.B. Museum of Art to learn about and be inspired by original works of art. Our exceptional team of experienced art teachers includes professional painters, illustrators, art historians, graphic designers, ceramicists, and educators. The student-teacher ratio is 8:1. Campers are grouped by age in four classrooms; group size is limited to maximum 12 campers.

Viva Santa Barbara! Create and Celebrate Art: Santa Barbara’s spectacular landscape, traditional architecture, local heritage, and celebrations will inspire the many fascinating art projects that will transform campers into real Santa Barbara artists. June 16-20 and July 28-Aug. 1.

The Traveling Artist-Sketch, Draw, and Paint: Around the world in five days. Travel through time and place at the museum and capture your adventures with drawings in your sketchbook. Back in the art studio we will develop ideas from our sketches into masterful works of art. June 23-27 and July 21-25.

Me, Myself and I-It’s All About Me: Draw, paint, collage, and sculpt as you explore the many facets of you. Two exhibitions of modern and contemporary art at the museum will spark new ideas for your own creations. June 30-July 3 (no camp on July 4) $225/$190 and Aug. 4-8.

Leonardo and Friends-Explore, Invent, Create: Become a true Renaissance artist as you experiment with the many connections between art and science. Draw from life, design a Venetian mask, paint al fresco and build your imaginative inventions for a new world! July 7-11 and Aug. 11-15.

Art Revolution! Express Yourself: Welcome the visionary artists of tomorrow! This camp builds and develops the skills to express yourself in the universal language of art. Expertly use line, shape and color on portraits, posters, and flags to communicate your ideas for the future. July 14-18 and Aug. 18-22.

Storytelling in Video and Film

Learn to write, shoot, and edit video and film using Sony VX-2100 cameras and Final Cut Pro HD. Students will storyboard, shoot, edit, and create a five-minute short DVD.

Throwing on the Potter’s Wheel

Learn basic throwing techniques in this fun and rewarding class. Hand-built projects and under-glaze painting techniques are included. Both functional and sculptural work are covered.

Two one-week sessions, Apr. 28-May 2, or May 19-May 23, Mon.-Fri., 3:30-5:30pm. A minimum enrollment of five participants is required for the class to proceed. Young Singers Club Performing Arts Camps

Fun and helpful vocal training and an exciting Saturday performance. Week includes age-appropriate voice instruction, choreography, microphone techniques, drama instruction, games, writing, and more. Youth Acting Camps

Does your child express an interest in performing? Class size of 10 or fewer participants provides personalized attention. Instructor Brendan Fleming has been acting for 25 years, performing in theater, film, and television. Tuesdays. Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E. Carrillo St.

Beginning Acting: Students learn vocal range, proper breathing technique, and how to use voice as an instrument. Movement classes include characterization, neutrality, action, and using the body as instrument. Stage direction, etiquette, and professionalism are taught. Students role-play, improvise, and learn mime through theater games and activities. No memorization required.

Intermediate Acting: Refine vocal and movement skills using clarity, enunciation, tempo, and timing. Memorized scenes and monologues are worked on at length, with constant critique and suggestion. Script analysis and use of objective, subtext, and intention.
