City of Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation’s Aquacamp is filled with exciting adventures including water safety instruction, tide pool and marine life discovery, water games, boogie boarding, fishing, and arts and crafts. Sessions 1 and 3 visit the Long Beach Aquarium. In Session 2, kids learn about the Channel Islands and visit the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary. Carpinteria Junior Lifeguards

Carpinteria Junior Lifeguards (JGs) program has been a summer favorite and a tradition since 1967. During this seven-week program, certified ocean lifeguards teach all aspects of life-guarding. Junior Lifeguards have great fun while they learn first aid skills, CPR, ocean ecology, beach and wave dynamics, and the value of spirited competition and physical fitness. JGs travel to neighboring communities to participate in swimming, running, and paddleboard competitions. All participants will be required to pass a non-competitive ocean and pool swim test. Carpinteria Kayaking Adventure Camp

Doggone Fun Camp

Junior Lifeguards

S.B. Surf Adventures

Week-long surf camp takes place at Leadbetter Beach. Long, rolling waves make it great for beginners. Camp is suited for kids with basic swimming skills. Each camper receives a camp T-shirt, lunch, and a great surfing experience. One, two, three, or four-day camps prorated.

Santa Barbara Swim Club

S.B. Swim Club is a year-round swim team and offers competition. Swimmers don’t need to know all competitive strokes, but must be water-safe. Head coach John Dussliere is a member of the U.S. National Team Coaching Staff.

Scuba Camp at Anacapa Dive Center

Allows young divers plenty of water time and builds their skills through fun activities, making them comfortable, competent divers. Must have own scuba-quality mask, snorkel, fins, booties, and be good swimmers, in good medical condition.

Skateboard Clinic

Participants get exclusive access to Skater’s Point during clinic time while they learn and practice proper techniques, improve their skateboard skills, and experience the challenges of Skater’s Point. The experienced staff focuses on safety under the direction of Steve Fancher. Skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads are required. Grouped by skill level.

Sports and Beach Camp

S.B. Parks & Recreation’s hip, athletic counselors make Sports and Beach Camp popular, fun, and challenging. Lively and varied activities include archery, nationball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, and individual and team Olympic-style events. Excursions include the back side of Rincon, Carpinteria State Beach, and East Beach. All counselors are certified Class B drivers, certified in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Water Rescue and certified Beach Guards attend all beach activities.

Summer Junior Golf Camps

The Russ Morrison Junior Golf Program provides opportunities for youth interested in learning golf. The program director, Matt Easterbrook, is the PGA Teaching Professional at Santa Barbara Golf Club. Emphasis on providing hands-on instruction and playing opportunities for members while continuing to introduce youth of all social, cultural, and economic backgrounds to the game of golf.

Surf Happens for Youth and Teens

Swim Lessons
