MacKinnon Gets Endorsements from DA, Sheriffs Association
Three-Way Judge Race Comes to a Vote on June 3.
Santa Barbara Senior Deputy District Attorney John MacKinnon, a candidate for Superior Court judge, was endorsed Tuesday by his boss, District Attorney Christie Stanley as well as the Santa Barbara County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (DSA).
The DSA is the largest law enforcement group in the county, with more than 490 members. MacKinnon is squaring off against Kevin Ready, a senior attorney for Santa Barbara County, and research attorney Jed Beebe.
“John MacKinnon is an outstanding attorney with a keen understanding of our laws,” Stanley said in a statement from MacKinnon’s campaign. “As a tough and fair prosecutor, he has represented the people of Santa Barbara County to put criminals behind bars.”
The election is June 3.
