An 84-year-old Santa Barbara resident struck a pedestrian just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Foothill and Cieneguitas roads today, reported California Highway Patrol spokesman Donald Clotworthy. Though Foothill Road remains open as of press time, Clotworthy described the injuries sustained be the female pedestrian, who was crossing the sidewalk when she was hit, as “major” and “life-threatening.” No other information was available.
