Ramius, a private investment firm that lays claim to 3.6 percent of the stock of CKE Restaurants-the parent company of Carl’s Junior, the Green Burrito, and Hardee’s-sent an open letter on 6/17 urging CKE CEO Andrew Puzder to cut costs by consolidating its Carpinteria headquarters, “which occupies some of the most valuable real estate in the U.S.” into a “lower-cost facility,” such as its Anaheim office.

For the second year in a row, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital received the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. It was the sole hospital in California and one of only 15 hospitals in the nation to receive the award.
