Development 7-31
The Miramar Hotel was removed from the 7/28 Montecito Board of Architectural Review (MBAR) agenda after owner Rick Caruso said members of his staff couldn’t attend. Consequently, the Montecito Planning Commission will rule on the project without hearing again from the MBAR, even though the commission decided on 7/15 that the project should go to MBAR for review. The Glen Annie Golf Club, under pressure from the $15 million debt incurred building and maintaining its golf course and restaurant, announced on 7/23 plans to build 175 homes on the property. The proposed project would include nine 10-unit condominiums, 18 townhouses, and 67 single-family homes, in addition to four soccer fields and an 18-hole executive golf course. The project hinges on annexation by the City of Goleta. (/glennannie)
