• Jeepers creepers, they’re collecting old peepers! The Lions Sight and Hearing Center of S.B., in conjunction with local area Lions Clubs, will collect used eyeglasses instead of candy this Halloween while they trick-or-treat. Sight Night, Friday, October 31, is part of a national collection drive conducted annually. The used eyeglasses are recycled and sent to developing countries. If a volunteer doesn’t make it to your home on Halloween, eyeglasses can be dropped off year-round at the downtown and Goleta libraries. Call 569-8264 for specific locations.
