Thanks to a unanimous vote of support from the school board, Tammy Murphy was named superintendent of the Montecito Union School District last week. Murphy—whose prior experience includes a recent stint as the Superintendent of the Ross School District (a one school district in Marin County) and, before that, administrative and teaching positions in New Jersey—will replace retiring Montecito Union Superintendent Dick Douglas who is departing after a decade at the helm. Murphy, who is a mother of three, will begin her duties in July.
