The S.B. Maritime Museum’s Kardboard Kayak Race will take to the waters off West Beach this weekend, where teams of four competitors will test the durability and functionality of their homemade kayaks, all crafted entirely out of cardboard and tape. The event is sure to be a fun feast for the eyes, and creative watercraft constructors can still sign up to compete. The competition begins at 11:30 a.m. and floats till 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 10. The race is free for spectators and teams pay $30 to register. Call 962-8404 or visit sbmm.org for more info.
