For parents worried about sending their young adults into the world to fend for themselves, there is a program that may allay fears. Called “Moving Out!” the week-long workshop teaches teens (ages 13-16) life skills such as how to find an apartment, search for a job, create a budget, and use credit cards wisely. “Most kids don’t have a clue how to move out and stay out,” said program creator Elisabeth Donati in a press release. “By empowering our teens with the information they need to be fully responsible for themselves when they move out, we’ve done our best to prepare them to live life fully.” The camp takes place Monday-Friday, July 19-23, at the Veterans Memorial Building (112 W. Cabrillo Blvd.). Scholarships are available. For more info, call Elisabeth Donati at 957-1024 or visit campmillionaire.com.
