Ski and Sports Club Kick-Off Meeting

The Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club will hold their Kick-off meeting for the 2011 Season on September 15, 2010 from 7pm-10pm at Chase Palm Park Recreation Center. Individuals will have a chance to join the club and sign up for club trips and events throughout the 2011 Season.

Event highlights will include new member welcome “meet & greet.” Trip Captains will sign up new and returning members for trips to Mammoth, Aspen/Snowmass and Sun Valley. Social Director will offer sign ups for the Kick-off party and Halloween Party. Ways and Means Director will sign up donations for the Live Service auction and Ski Swap Meet. Refreshments will be served and the event is free to attend.

Meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of the month, from September 15 to April 20, 2011. During this event, members can sign up for trips to Mammoth, CA, Aspen/Snowmass, CO and Sun Valley, ID. The weekend trips to Mammoth are scheduled for 1/6-8, 1/21-23, 2/24-26, 3/8-20, and 4/15-17 and are bus trips that depart from Santa Barbara. The week-long trips are scheduled to All trips include transportation, accommodation, and lift tickets and are organized by the trip captains.

At this event, members will also have the opportunity to sign up for other activities including, the Annual Kick Off Party/BBQ on 9/18 from 12-4P at Shoreline Park, free to members, the semi annual Santa Ynez Wine Tasting & Bike Ride/BBQ on 11/8 and the club’s Annual Halloween Party scheduled on 10/30 at SoHo. Also, coming up on the October calendar are: Santa Cruz Island Kayaking and Hiking Trip, a Live Service Auction, a Ski Swap Meet and a Slide Show of the past year’s trip and social events scheduled for 10/1 to familiarize new members with the club. Must be 21 to join the club.

The Santa Barbara Ski & Sports Club is a local, not for profit organization devoted to serving the local community and public.
