Where: 211 Helena Avenue, 966-5906, redssb.com.

What: A neighborhood bar that serves tapas, wine, beer, cocktails, and hosts live music.

How Much: Happy Hour Tuesday-Friday, 3-7 p.m.: $4 well drinks and house wine, $3 drafts and bottles.

The Dish: Reds Bar and Tapas steps in where coffee left off. Formerly a funky java shop, known for its artsy, off-the-beaten-path vibe and Green Star brewed coffee, Reds has undergone a culinary bar-bites and decorative facelift on the burgeoning Urban Wine Trail. Cheese plates, panini, bruschetta, pulled chicken-breast sliders, quiche, and bottomless mimosa Sunday brunch are among the menu items, as well as an extensive local wine and beer menu. Owner Dana Walters brings in an eclectic mix of live music for weekend entertainment. Patrons can enjoy seating in an extended wall booth, small tables, and comfortable geometric ottomans. Large parties will have space to socialize in a small dining-room area that is home to a communal table. The laid-back vibe of the establishment is home to spur-of-the-moment decisions on specials, such as pairing chili and a pint of Negra Modelo with chilly fall weather.
