Bedford Winery suggests you make room for ‘shrooms—especially since our rains this winter have made them bloom abundantly—at their Mushrooms Gone Wild Festival on Saturday, January 22, from 2-5 p.m., at their tasting room (448 Bell St., Los Alamos). Here’s your chance to learn what’s tasty and what’s deadly, and then sample plenty of the former in wonderful appetizers, including tarts, turnovers, terrines, and even things that don’t begin with a “t” but fit mushrooms marvelously. Past years (this is the fifth annual) have served up chanterelles, shiitakes, hedgehog, oysters, horn o’ plenty, and porcinis, so who knows what this year’s fertile season might yield. Bedford will pair the fungi with its wines, from its signature syrah to pinot noir, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, a dry riesling, and older library wines. Call 344-2107 or see bedfordwinery.com.
