Nick Welsh omitted one glaring character defect in his hagiographic piece on Lois Capps: dishonesty. In 1998 she signed a three-term agreement with Americans for Limited Terms. In return, they spent over $250,000 to help her win that election.

When she ran for her fourth term and thus breached her contract, they asked for their money back. Lois stiffed them. I call that grand theft. What do you call it, Nick?
