Homeless Bum for Jesus

Dear Nick Welsh, I am shocked and appalled at your obvious disenfranchisement of the poor. Even if you’re speaking tongue-in-cheek as you often do, why do you label us (all) “urban zombies” and attacking barbarians? From my “homeless” point of view I see it the other way around. Even if you speak somewhat in jest, you are promoting bigotry as you do not bother to delineate it as mere jest, but appear to be rubbing shoulders with the hysterical haters of homeless-dwellers, while lightly chiding them (the elite). Homeless more than anyone suffer from lack of love and people’s judgments and fears of being homeless themselves.

I leave you with the apostle Paul’s wise words where he pointed out that “God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in His presence.” (I Corinthians 1:25-29) [King James version, Cambridge edition.]

You better watch who you cut down, Nick Welsh. It might be a prophet in the making. We the homeless think you need to spend some time out here being homeless.—Jasmine Gregory, S.B., homeless bum for Jesus for 31 years
