The Dish: Epic Bowl is in on the benefits of the superfood trend—providing a variety of bowls, oatmeal, and smoothies made with local and organic ingredients. Boasting a plethora of exotic berries—from acai to goji—Epic Bowl expertly blends flavors and textures to create a meal or snack full of natural energy and a rush of antioxidants. The acai (pronounced ah·sigh·EE) berry is at the top of the chain when it comes to antioxidant concentration (500 percent more than blueberry). Grown in the Brazilian Amazon region, it has long been a popular food on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. A Classic Rio Bowl follows the good food rules with organic blended acai, banana, and organic apple juice, colorfully topped with sliced banana, organic hemp granola, and sweetened with drizzled honey. Outside of the acai box is the Mango Bowl—blended mango, coconut water, and organic nonfat frozen yogurt, topped with fresh strawberries, mango, hemp granola, and drizzled honey. The Green Superfood Smoothie combines fruits and vegetables including dense goji berry, maca, spirulina, bee pollen, cacao, and richly flavorful kale. Located inside the Paseo Nuevo shopping center, Epic Bowl is conveniently located to serve shoppers a pick me up.
