Judge Kay Kuns was expected to make a ruling on 7/20 on a motion by former Santa Barbara police officer Brian Sawicki to suppress some of the evidence related to his August 2009 arrest at Refugio Beach for allegedly exposing himself to two teenage girls while off duty. Sawicki, who resigned from the department after his arrest, faces five misdemeanor crimes, including annoying or molesting a child and lewd conduct in a public place. According to prosecutor Brooke Gerard, the trial could get underway toward the end of October, as there are still several pre-trial motions to be taken up.
