Motorists Save Would-Be Cold Spring Jumper
Passing motorists prevented a 17-year-old Oxnard girl from jumping off the Cold Spring Canyon Bridge on 7/18. Authorities received a call of a young woman who appeared to be texting while walking on the bridge, and who looked like she might jump. Several people stopped their cars and pulled her away from the edge. The woman, who had left a suicide note in her vehicle, struggled quite a bit until CHP officers responded. County mental health officials arrived and took her to Cottage Hospital, where she was met by her family.
