No one was arrested for driving under the influence on August 14 and 18, when the Santa Barbara Police Department conducted DUI checkpoints on Garden and State streets, reported Sergeant Mike McGrew.

A total of 756 vehicles were checked. Funding for the operation came from a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Below are the DUI checkpoint results:

Driving under the influence (DUI): 0

Driving without a valid driver’s license and/or suspended: 14

Total vehicles towed: 14

Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold: 14

Traffic citations issued: 15

Arrests (non-DUI): 2
