Charity Regatta

For the past seven years, the S.B. Yacht Club has held its annual Charity Regatta to raise money for a worthy nonprofit. This year, the regatta takes place Sunday, September 11, with the proceeds going to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care (vnhcsb.org). In addition to a sailboat race, the day includes a raffle (among the prizes are a trip to Costa Rica, a three-month membership to the YMCA, and brunch for four at the Biltmore), a barbecue, live music, and an awards ceremony. If you aren’t captaining a boat but would like to watch the race from the water, you can sign up to get on a “spectator yacht.” The festivities go from noon-6 p.m. For registration and more info, call 965-8112 or visit sbyc.org.
