Bassnectar at Avila Beach Resort, Friday, Sep. 16

When Lorin Ashton, the artist known as Bassnectar, takes the stage on Friday, September 16 at the Avila Beach Resort, expect waves of bass that will make the nearby ocean bump, and a mesmerizing, fantastically varied show that delivers on every level—visually, musically, and physically. When those sub-woofers start to pump you will feel it through your whole body. Bassnectar’s incredible 2011 run includes a string of major festivals, sold-out headlining shows at venues like Red Rocks, the innovative and extra-wide mini-festivals Bass Island and the Bass Centers, and now, a concert on the water just a short ride up the coast from Santa Barbara. Many fans here will remember the very exciting and well-received Bassnectar set at the 2009 West Beach Festival when it was still on the beach, and this show will be the closest thing to that sublime night of dancing in the ever-shifting sands.
