A. A. Bondy’s New Album Believers Out Now

In addition to NPR – which premiered a full stream of the album last week via its Exclusive First Listen series – and SPIN (“ludicrously gorgeous”), Believers has been catching the attention of the press, including Aquarium Drunkard, The A.V. Club (“captivating”), BlackBook (“deeply soulful”), and Captain Obvious (“The songs here feel like living, breathing entities both pliable and ever-evolving”), among others. Bondy will head out on a short run of west coast dates later this month, beginning on the 28th at The Casbah in San Diego, CA and wrapping up October 7th at the Media Club in Vancouver, BC. The dates include a Los Angeles show at the Bootleg Theater on September 29th (please note the September 30th show at the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts has been canceled due to scheduling issues) and a performance at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco on October 1st. Bondy will then launch an extensive US headlining tour in November, beginning at the Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City, UT on the 1st and culminating with a show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY on the 22nd. Following the US tour, he will travel overseas for a European tour with The Felice Brothers. A full itinerary is below.

Believers, recorded in spring 2011 by Rob Schnapf at Mant/Kingsize Studios in Glassell Park, CA, is the follow-up to Bondy’s acclaimed 2009 album When The Devil’s Loose.
