Santa Barbara police recently arrested two men for possessing and allegedly dealing significant quantities of heroin and methamphetamine around the city and county.

On January 22, according to an SBPD spokesperson, detectives followed Randall Leong, 28, back and forth between Santa Barbara and Ventura and watched him make what looked like several drug deals. They eventually stopped him on the 400 block of Old Coast Highway and, during a search, found 102 bindles of black tar heroin in a baggie in the front of his pants. Each bindle was worth $30 each, police said. They also found a small amount of meth and a meth pipe in his possession. Leong was arrested and booked in County Jail with bail set at $30,000.

Four days later, on January 26, a two-month investigation ended with the arrest of Jorge Contreras, 40. Police had searched his home in the 4800 block of San Simeon Drive the day before and found 2.4 pounds of methamphetamine, $19,153 in cash, and scales and other items used to prep meth for sale. Contreras was booked in County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
