With grease collected by MarBorg Industries from area restaurants, the new Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and Cogeneration facilities at the El Estero Wastewater Treatment Plant will soon start generating 4,500 kWh of electricity per day and provide most of the plant’s power needs. City officials held a tour and ribbon-cutting celebration on 4/22 to celebrate the now-completed “grease to gas” scheme funded by a purchase agreement with California Power Partners.
