The Santa Barbara Boys & Girls Club boasts a sparkling new computer lab, replete with 16 iMac computers loaded with Adobe software and access to tutorial videos courtesy of the two companies. At a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 8/15, kids jumped right in, creating collages with Photoshop. Bruce Heavin, cofounder of, noted how much less afraid children are of new technology than adults. Said teen director Tyler Forshey, “I have no doubt that these kids are going to be flying through these programs in no time.” If not, they’ll receive instruction from Santa Barbara High School MAD (Multimedia Arts and Design) Academy students.
