For anyone who has ever dreamed of playing on stage, your time has come in Santa Barbara. This September, Santa Barbara Guitar Bar opened its doors and is jamming to the dynamic beat of the Funk Zone. Located at 137 Anacapa Street, Suite A, next door to The Lark and Lucky Penny restaurants, Guitar Bar is the latest venture to open within the “Anacapa Project”; the entire block of East Yanonali Street, between Helena Avenue and Anacapa Street. To celebrate their grand opening, Guitar Bar will host an Open House, this Saturday, September 28th, from 12:00pm – 5:00pm, and will welcome the public to come check out their new digs.

Guitar enthusiasts can credit owner Jamie Faletti for conceptualizing this modern take on a guitar shop. “Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to sell some of the finest guitars in the world, and helped design some of the most incredible custom guitars,” said Jamie Faletti, owner of Santa Barbara Guitar Bar. “My vision for Guitar Bar was to create a different kind of shop where clientele of all levels can have an authentic musician’s experience, whether they’re life-long players, buying their very first guitar, or just coming to check us out. I also wanted to make it possible for anyone who’s had that dream to feel what it’s like up on a stage!”

With over 25 years of experience in the musical instrument industry, Faletti’s vision was to create a one-of-a-kind space where finding the right guitar is all about the experience for clientele. While this is not your traditional bar (no alcohol is served), the Guitar Bar offers an experience with similar social intentions in mind, and introduces a new place where people can connect, make friends, find community, and engage in conversations about common passions. Guitar Bar was designed taking all of this into consideration, and the result is a lounge-like social setting that embraces all guitar players, and begs for impromptu jam sessions as clients maximize their experience finding the perfect guitar.

From the gallery-like display of guitars on the walls, to the bar that sparks conversation and makes the guitar-buying experience as comfortable as it gets; to the stage that anyone can play on, to the lounge furniture set up for guests to soak it all in… the Guitar Bar is unlike any other guitar shop around. The shop carries a world-class lineup of handcrafted guitars and accessories, many of which have never been available for purchase in Santa Barbara before now. Notable manufacturers include Taylor, Paul Reed Smith, Teye, Echopark, and Cole Clark, to name a few. Guitar Bar also carries high quality amplifiers from Dr. Z, 3 Monkeys, and 65amps, in addition to a wide variety of boutique accessories.

The shop is also fully equipped with two sound-proof demo rooms, where clientele can test drive their instruments and play their hearts out. The shop has four lesson rooms, where teachers and players can meet and hold regular practices. As part of Guitar Bar’s mission to support and cultivate the thriving music community in Santa Barbara, Guitar Bar will hold workshops and clinics on a regular basis. The first clinic will be held on Tuesday, October 29 with Taylor Guitars, who are stopping in Santa Barbara on their “Taylor Guitar Roadshow”, which features music and design demos, and a chance to talk shop with Taylor factory experts. Fans and followers on Guitar Bar’s social media channels can also look forward to surprise pop-up performances by notable musicians both local and passing through. Stay tuned and follow Guitar Bar here on Facebook & twitter.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Faletti got his first guitar at age 10 and has been playing and working in the musical instrument industry since he was 17. His first job was at Fancy Music, a music store that was located on State Street. Most recently he managed Instrumental Music, a shop he opened in 1997 and ran until late 2011 when he left to embark on this endeavor to open Guitar Bar. With over two decades in the industry, Faletti is an industry expert when it comes to buying, selling and custom designing guitars. His philosophy behind buying and selling guitars is above all to offer a highly personalized experience, designed to provide clientele with an authentic, full-service experience.
