The Old Town Community Association in Goleta — an informal organization that has met for years but hasn’t before held an event — has planned a summer series of free music and movie nights to foster neighborhood pride and involvement. Alternating every other week at the Goleta Valley Community Center starting on July 11, the events will feature live music from the Santa Barbara Youth Music Academy and kid-friendly flicks. The association also plans on partnering with the Milpas Community Association (MCA) for a youth expo over the summer and an MCA-modeled “Taste of Old Town” event later this year.
