Those looking for an excuse to hole up and watch football all weekend found one Friday night, when drizzle descended on the South Coast and lasted off and on through Sunday morning.

According to measurements from the county’s Public Works Department, the Carpinteria Fire Station received 1.59 inches, the downtown County Administration Building 1.42 inches, and the Ellwood area 1.23 inches. North County didn’t see much rain, with 0.53 inches at Lompoc City Hall and 0.16 inches at the County Administration building in Santa Maria.

The rest of the week looks mostly clear and sunny, according to the National Weather Service. Monday’s temperature is expected to peak at 65, with highs in the mid-70s through Friday. The weekend will bring temperatures in the 60s.
