Handful of Goleta Citrix Workers Laid Off
The Tech Company Lost 900 Workers in Worldwide Downsize
Five Goleta-based Citrix employees were laid off this week as part of a company-wide plan announced last week to ax 900 jobs worldwide, according to spokesperson Julie Geer. She declined to comment on the employees’ severance packages.
Citrix investors learned last week that the tech company would be terminating 700 full-time positions and 200 contractor jobs in an effort both to save costs amid projected decreasing revenues and to laser in on the specific division of the business.
Last march, 65 workers within the worldwide online-services department were fired, including an undisclosed number in the Goleta office.
