The Interior Board of Indian Appeals dismissed an appeal filed by the county prior to the federal approval of the Chumash Camp 4 application, with the caveat that the county can raise the same issues in the subsequent appeal it filed over the approval itself. The now-dismissed appeal came after the Bureau of Indian Affairs stated that annexing the 1,400 acres would have “no significant impact” on the surrounding area.
