The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts significant rain in Santa Barbara County beginning Saturday night and continuing through Monday morning, reaching two inches in coastal areas and as many as five inches in the foothills and mountains.

NWS also issued high surf warnings beginning Friday, with a likelihood of rip currents in all Santa Barbara beaches. The largest surf, with max sets up to nine feet and high tides of nearly seven feet, is expected to occur Monday-Tuesday morning and may cause moderate coastal flooding. Continued rainfall on Monday may result in mud and debris flow in recently burned areas near Solimar Beach.
